Dear Dr watfa,

hope you're doing great. Now that the grades are out i can give you my HONEST comments about
the 284 class without you thinking that im doing that to get a better   grade or so :)

Dr Mohamad k. Watfa is UNDOUBTEDLY the most interesting, effective and   fun professor ever! He is very approachable yet knows how to handle   his class with authority. I've HONESTLY enjoyed his class a great   deal.  Very enthusiastic about everyone learning and keeping everyone   up to speed! He played no favoritism for certain students. Always   well-prepared and ready with different activities and projects. He   encourages you to think for yourself and to research and ask questions   if you don?t understand. he DEFINITELY doesn?t hand you the answers in
a neat package. You need to work to master the material which helps   retention wonderfully. I really appreciated the organization and how  topic matters were broken down into parts which made the lectures very  clear , informative, and easy to comprehend. Everything was   straightforward. The assignments and exams were graded in little time.

It?s been an absolute pleasure being in your class. I Learned SO MUCH   and definitely am sure of my choice in getting a masters degree in  networking. You truly are an AWESOME , EXTREMELY GIFTED PROFESSOR.
Thank you Dr Watfa.

Dear Dr. Watfa,

I would like to start by thanking you for all what you’ve offered in this CMPS 284-Computer Networks course. If I were to describe my whole fall term 2007-2008 in two words, these two words would definitely, without a question, be “CMPS 284”. If this is something good or something not so good, it depends on whether the student is interested in Networking or just taking it as an elective because it fit his/her schedule. I personally was very interested in the course as I was thinking about continuing my Masters and PhD in this domain. After taking it, I am almost sure that this is what I want to do. However, this course is heavy-loaded, and students who take it will have many obligations towards it: homework wise, projects wise, and studying wise. The thing is that it is a Computer Science elective course. I strongly believe that CMPS 284 should be made a requirement because, after taking it, I think that it is far more important than some of the CMPS required courses that we are taking here at AUB. I also believe that this course would be taught best by you, obviously because Computer Networks is your profession. The enthusiasm that you added to this course is still unmatched. All of the homework, projects, and exams were far more challenging that any course I’ve taken. Truth being said, I enjoyed this course a lot even though it did create some stress in the last couple of weeks because of the time shortage. I strongly agree with you that this course should be taught in two phases/terms - CMPS 284A and CMP 284B - because the material is very interesting, and it would be a loss if it wasn’t completely covered.

In the end, I would like to thank you again for all this energy and devotion you gave to the course and to us as students, and I want to wish you success in your career as a professor. I really hope that you would continue teaching with this enthusiasm and dedication because I think that this is what AUB, in general, and the Computer Science Department, in specific, need.

Dear Sir,
I know I may be a bit late sending this, but I think well, better late
than never. I want to thank you for everything; I mean taking 272 and
284 with you was a great choice. I can't deny at some points I hated
it a lot, and you were pretty much very exhausting with the
requirements.  But also I cannot deny it was for our own good. Taking
a course with you is both tiring, but very beneficial. You teach us
endurance and information at the same time. I really learned a lot
with you, and you got me really interested in all the material you
taught me. When we took 272, at the end of the course I actually
downloaded Solaris OS just to see what it was. Even now after 284, I
went a bit further to know the ins and outs of some stuff. All I want
to say is that the way you give
course is great, and I really appreciate everything you gave us, and
all that  you taught us. I actually benefitted from a course. Anyway,
thank you for everything sir, this couple of semesters were great, and
I would advise all who want to actually learn to take a course with
you, I know I would, I am actually depending on it :)

Best regards,

Dear Dr. Watfa,

Thank you for a great summer term. I personally did not think that I
was going to enjoy it the way I did. I consider this term, though very
short, to be one of the most fruitful and enjoyable terms I've taken
here at AUB.
Though the exams were very challenging, the interesting thing about
them was that they were intellectual, and so, we did not have to
memorize material and paste them on the exam paper. I actually learned
something that I consider valuable.
The idea of having bonus points and drop-quizzes after the lectures was
outstanding. It kept us strongly attentive and interactive in class. We
couldn't afford to waste time and get distracted!

My favorite part of this Operating Systems course was the ASSIGNMENTS!
They were just right for this course.
I really do wish that you continue teaching with the same motivation
and excitement that you showed us during this term.
Again, I thank you, Sir, for all what you offered. I am sure you gave
us your best, and I am most grateful for that.
Wishing you all the success and progress for the years to come,

Dear Dr Watfa,
Thank you very much for this wonderful semester I have learned a lot
from you in this semester, really I mean it.
Your way of teaching is really magnificent you really motivate the
student and give him a push to learn and seek knowledge.
I think all the professors should learn this way of teaching from you?
I mean it, I had a lot of professors and took a lot of courses but
this is the first time that I encounter this way of teaching this is
really great. All the other professors and teachers all they care
about is grades, memorizing and making the student look like a robot
not a thinking entity that understands and analyze.
This what makes you different from them and I really thank you for
this?I am sure all my collegues agree with me.
I am not saying this just in front of you but I am only saying the truth?
....

Dear Prof Watfa,
I want to start by thanking your for a very knowledgeable and enjoyable course. I think i can say for the first time that i was so motivated that i would like to learn more about operating systems and even might pursue by research in this field.

I only wish we had more time to cover more materials like file systems and some case studies.

....

Hi Doctor Watfa,

It's XXXXX. I am emailing you to tell you that taking the
course with you was a great pleasure, and to thank you for giving the
course this way because it helps us to think better, not only memorize
and come to tests like other teachers do.

------------------------------------------------------------------

Dear Sir,

Yes, The course was really tough on us however I have been searching MIT (open Course source) and other universities and i was amazed how well prepared I am and how the material and exams you gave resemble those given at TOP universities. I really learned a lot from a course i didnt expect much from to start with.

I am looking forward to taking future courses with you in the very near future.
